Coming Soon? PosthumousDaddyTypes.com

Nope, here already. NPR had a fascinating story yesterday about a woman's three-year court battle with the Social Security Administration to get her husband's benefits for the couple's twin children. The catch is, the children were conceived in vitro after the father died suddenly of cancer. (The couple had been trying for years to conceive.)

As with surrogacy laws and custody, California courts are having to lead the way through the legal issues surrounding these new kinds of family relationships.
